
Men's Golf Finishes Fourth at Kansas Invite

LAWRENCE, Kan. - LAWRENCE, Kan. - Junior Charlie Woo fired a career-best 214 to pace the University of Louisville's men's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the Kansas Fall Invitational on Tuesday in Lawrence, Kansas.
The Cardinals posted their best fall finish, shooting 877 as a team, just one stroke behind third-place Wichita State. Kansas won the tournament by 17 stroke, while the Jayhawks' Andrew Price took home medalist honors.
Woo fired an even par 72 in the final round to secure his best finish as a collegiate. He tied for fifth last spring at the Arkansas State Indian Classic with a 216.
Tim Powell finished well, placing in a tie for 21st place by shooting 76-72-72=220. Mike Giammaresi tied for 34th overall with 73-75-74=222.
Brett Jones, the Cardinals top overall player, battled back to place in a tie for 39th. Jones started the day in 55th-place, but shot a -1 under 71 in the final round. Mark Conlon rounds out the Cardinals' top five with 74-77-80=231, which was good for 68th place.
The Cardinals will host the second annual Cardinal Collegiate on Monday, September 29. The Cardinals will play 36 holes on Monday, and finish up the final round on Tuesday morning.
