LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - The University of Louisville field hockey team will hold an alumnae scrimmage on Saturday, August 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Trager Stadium. A reception will immediately follow the game at Trager Stadium.
"This alumni game is an important event that we look forward to every year," said U of L head coach Pam Bustin. "Not only does it allow us to catch up with the former Cardinal hockey players who have lain the foundation for our program, but it also provides quality preparation and competition before our opening game."
Last year, the Cards shared the regular season championship with Central Michigan and finished with a 13-8 overall record. After starting the season ranked fourth in the nation, they finished the year ranked No. 11 in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association's final poll.
U of L, the preseason Mid-American Conference favorite, will open the season at 2002 NCAA semifinalist Old Dominion on August 30. The Cardinals will play their home opener against Boston University on Sept. 6 at Trager Stadium at noon.
Any alumnae or former players wishing to participate in the game or attend the cookout, please contact assistant coach Christy Utter at 852-7795.
