LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - University of Louisville field hockey coach Pam Bustin has announced the hiring of Britt D'Augustine as an assistant coach. She will work primarily with the goalkeepers and assist in game and practice preparation.
D'Augustine comes to U of L from American University where she spent two years as an assistant coach and helped lead the team to a pair of Patriot League Championship Tournaments.
The 2001 Dartmouth graduate was an All-Ivy League selection and a four-year starter as a goalkeeper. She was named team captain and MVP as a senior. D'Augustine ranks second on the school's single season and career list in goals-against average.
D'Augustine has participated in the United States Field Hockey Association 'A' Camp and played in the USFHA's summer league. She served as a site director and head coach for the USFHA's Futures development program in Region I and has continued coaching in Maryland and Northern Virginia sites. She has coached several camps including: high school and college open, FDIC, Futures and Nike.
"We are extremely excited and fortunate to have Britt join the field hockey staff," said Bustin. "Britt's dedication to the sport and desire to excel in division 1 coaching helped to make her the chosen candidate. Already, her pride in becoming a University of Louisville Cardinal is evident. We look forward to her enthusiasm and experience as we move ahead on our course to competing for a national championship."
The field hockey team will open the season at 2002 NCAA semifinalist Old Dominion on August 30. The Cardinals will play their home opener against Boston University on Sept. 6 at Trager Stadium at noon.
