BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The University of Louisville field hockey team opened the spring season by winning the Indiana University Spring Tournament Saturday, March 28.
The Cardinals went undefeated on the day with a 4-0-3 record, outscored opponents 12-3 and drew more corners than their opponents to claim the tournament championship.
"It was a great tournament and a fantastic way to open our spring competition," said U of L head coach Pam Bustin. "We entered the tournament with the focus on team play and running the field. We wanted to test our team's mental fortitude, an aspect that we have been working on improving since January. On Saturday we made great improvements overcoming many challenges throughout the day's competition."
The field hockey team will play an alumni game on Saturday, April 4 at Trager Stadium.
