Louisville, Ky. - The University of Louisville football team finally cracked the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll, as the coaches voted the Cardinals 25th overall.
The Cardinals (7-1, 3-1 C-USA) are ranked for the first time since Louisville opened the 2002 season at No. 17, before falling out of the polls for good after a 22-17 loss to Kentucky.
Louisville, who received 136 total votes, ran its record to 7-1, 3-1 C-USA with a 36-20 win over East Carolina on Saturday in Greenville.
The Cardinals are off until November 5 when Louisville squares off against No. 13 TCU (8-0, 5-0 C-USA) in a nationally-televised game on ESPN. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. EST.
