Men's Golf Places 15th at Barona Cup

San Diego, Calif. - Freshman Mark Conlon of the University of Louisville men's golf team finished in a tie for 25th as the Cardinals placed 15th at the Barona Collegiate Cup at the Barona Creek G.C. on Tuesday.
The Cardinals fired 876 during the two-day event, as Colorado State was the champion with 836.
Conlon carded 69-71-73=213 to lead the Cardinals. He shot a 69 during a rain-shortened round on Monday, and played well on Tuesday by shooting even par.
Junior Brett Jones, who started the day in 12th place, shot 69 on Monday, but fired 75-77 on Tuesday to finish with 221 and in a tie for 52nd place.
Freshman Mike Giammaresi was tied for 60th with 76-72-74=222, and junior Charlie Woo was a shot back with 77-72-74=223. Brent Holmes rounded out the Cardinals top five with 74-77-77=228.
The Cardinals are back in action on Oct. 27-28 at the Fall Beach Classic in Gulf Shores, Ala.
