The University of Louisville men's golf team will welcome 14 teams for the inaugural tournament on its home course, the Cardinal Club, with the U of L Cardinal Intercollegiate on Monday, September 29 and Tuesday, September 30.
U of L head coach Mark Crabtree's Cardinals are among a strong 15-team field which includes six NCAA qualifiers from last season, including Coastal Carolina, Rhode Island, South Alabama, Texas-Arlington and Virginia Commonwealth. Other teams participating in the event include Conference USA members Marquette, Southern Miss, Tulane and UAB as well as Akron, Arkansas State, Eastern Kentucky and Southeast Louisiana.
Crabtree is excited about the prospect of hosting an event on his teams' home course, the 6,992-yard Spencer Holt designed Cardinal Club.
"This is an exciting time for this program, we've got a talented lineup and a wonderful facility to call our home," Crabtree said. "We've waited a long time to be able to host an event like this and its exciting that that day has finally arrived."
Play will begin with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start on Monday with continuous play for 36 holes. The final round on Tuesday will begin with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start.
