Dewayne White: I am here and ready to go!!!
m.real (louisville): D-DUB, Last week you guys held Duke to something like -2 rushing yards on the road, what do you, and the rest of the defense, need to do to repeat this against a more talented and option style offense of CSU?
Dewayne White: First of all we have to stop Sapp and force them to pass the ball. We should be able to do that.
Townsend Underhill: Firts of all I must say that a part of my soul died when we lost to KY. Our O line is obviously struggling. What has John L. done to give Ragone some time and allow the play to develope? Has the lack of offensive success been overly tiring to the defensive unit at this point.
Dewayne White: They have to find some offensive players to work together and we are trying to find those five guys. You just have to give the OL some time to come together. Sometimes it does get tiring, we got tired in the Kentucy game but we plan to make some plays to help the offense out.
Les ( Houston): In your last game you guys looked a little shakey espacially on offense, what do you think about your chances against the Seminoles granted its a home game??
Dewayne White: It all depends on how we do in the next couple games. If we can come together and play for four quarters our chances will be good.
Brian M (Louisville): I watch all the Cards games, and it seems to me that you are getting double teamed almost every play. It seems to be opening up Devon Thomas who already has three sacks. Does that get frustrating to get double teamed all the time? I was just wondering if you agree with this, I think the defense can help out the offense by getting some turnovers and getting them in better field position. Finally, we sure would like you to stay for your senior year, it sure would be nice.
Dewayne White: Yes. It helps the team so it doesnt frustrate me. Espcially because we are getting some sacks because of it. But it does get frustrating.
m.real (louisville): I have heard you use to play RB, and with the position at RB up in the air at UofL, have you ever thought about changing to the other side of the ball and tormenting defenses instead of offenses ala "the fridge"?(got any good nicknames)
Dewayne White: No, I think this is a great fit for me. I enjoy hitting people and I don't like getting hit myself! I like sacking QBs so I'll stay at defensive end!
Michael (Holly Hill, FL): What is your training regimen in the offseason?
Dewayne White: Whatever our strenght coach tells me to do, I do that as hard as I possibly can. I work out four days a week and run three days a week. I run four days as the season gets closer.
Steven Webb: Dewayne I was wanting to know if you was looking to leave for the NFL after this year? And speaking of the NFL did you see Branch's first game, He has a career in front of him And so do you. And forget the BCS everyone knows it is a joke anyways. Steven from the Ville and long time card fan.
Dewayne White: I'm not looking to leave but if they have me where I have no choice that will be in my best interest. I just want to have a great season and whatever happens happens.
Josh (LOU): Hey Dewayne. First off i wanted to tell you how much i admired the game you played last year while breaking your hand, i think it was against ECU, and coming back in and still playing and being dominate. Also, i was wondering, is there a big reason why the defense hasn't forced a turnover yet? Good luck the rest of the season.
Dewayne White: I think we dropped some INTs and didn't recover a fumble last game. When they go for it on fourth down like in the Duke game and don't make it, that is like a turnover. Kentucky ran the ball about 50 times so the chances for turnovers were small.
Brad Weisberg ,LA: I'm a Louisville native and got my heart broken when we lost to U of K. What do you think are chances are of breaking back into the BCS and do you think are offinsive line will give ragone more the two seconds to throw the ball
Dewayne White: It depends on how the other Top 25 teams do .. and hpw the Top 10 teams do. We just need to get on a winning streak to break back in.
Perry (Lexington): Hey man, I am from Louisville, but I live in Lexington. When you sacked big boy and they took it away because of a face mask which was bogus, and then you sacked him the next play, did you think "so what man I'll get him anyway" right when they took the first one away???
Dewayne White: Yes.. that makes you angry when they take it from you so I just wanted to do it again to prove they couldn't stop me.
Lester: Hi, i think your the best DL in college football, how would you rate yourself?
Dewayne White: I don't really rate myself I just try to do my best and be productive as possible. I don't look at everyone else I just want to help stop the run and rush the passer and get sacks.
C-Dog (Denver): Being a Cards fan in Denver, I am hopeing with Colorado State struggling, you guys will come out pumped! What do you think it will take to beat a good CSU team?
Dewayne White: Everybody has to play as a team .. offense, defense and special teams. If we can do that we can win that game.
Art-or-ram (Fort Collins): I have heard great things about you! I was curious if UofL is worried about VanPelts throwing ability or are you guys worried more about Sapp and the Run?
Dewayne White: Worried? No, we have a good secondary. We just have to put some pressure on him. They will probably run it more with Sapp. We have to stop him as well.
Dave (louisville): You've had 10 multiple-sack games in your career. What's going through your mind when you're in a QBs face all night long, knowing you've got his number? Do you ever see fear in their eyes?
Dewayne White: Yes, sometimes I do see fear. Once you sack him once or twice they look at you more and take their eyes off downfield.
Ross (Louisville): Do you think you guys came in over confident againts KY or do you think KY is that good of a football team this year??
Dewayne White: I don't think we were over confident. But in that loss, we can learn from what happened and it will help us down the road.
Mark (DaVille): Is our offensive line getting any better in practice? You think you might have to play both ways this year and help out with the blocking? Go Cards!! Good Luck Saturday!
Dewayne White: I looked at the Duke game and they did a great job picking up the blitz. They did a great job understanding where the blitz was coming from and how to pick it up. They are really coming together.
Thanks for the all questions.. be sure to watch the game on Saturday!!!!!!!
