Men's Golf Leads Yestingmeier Invitational After Two Rounds

YORKTOWN, IN -- Paced by the play of freshmen Brett Jones and Mark Anderson, the University of Louisville men's golf team stands atop the leaderboard as it enters the final round of the Earl Yestingmeier Invitational. U of L opens Sunday's competition with a 10-shot lead over second place Western Kentucky.
Jones and Anderson, each playing in just their second collegiate competition, combined to shoot four rounds in the 60s. Both stand at nine-under par 135 entering Sunday's final round and are tied with Brad Morris of Eastern Kentucky for a share of the lead.
Overall, the Cardinals have four players among the top 20 competitors in the 19-team event. Senior Grant Sturgeon fired rounds of 70 and 68 over the 6,911-yard Players' Club course while freshman Charlie Woo shot back-to-back scores of 69 and 71. Sturgeon enters the final round tied for eighth while Woo is just five strokes behind the leaders in 12th place.
