LOUISVILLE, KY -- The second University of Louisville vs. University of Kentucky Golf Challenge is now accepting entrants for the August 31 event. The Challenge is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. ET
"We had a great show of support in Year One and I expect Year Two to be just as strong," said U of L head men's golf coach Mark Crabtree. "This gives fans and boosters a chance to be a part of one of college sports great rivalries."
The competition will be held at the Wildcat Club and matches a maximum of 60 two-person teams supporting each school against one another in a Ryder Cup format. The 2000 Challenge was captured by the Louisville squad, 41-34, at Lake Forest Country Club.
Cost for the event is $250 per player with proceeds going to the men's and women's golf programs at both schools. Along with 18 holes of play at the Wildcat Club, U of L competitors will receive lunch and dinner, complimentary drinks on the course, an adidas sweater vest and cap as well as the opportunity to purchase a pair of tickets to the Sept. U of L / UK football game at Commonwealth Stadium.
Players interested in taking part should contact the U of L special events office at (502) 852-0721.
