Softball Players Earn All-Region Honors

Two University of Louisville softball players, Melissa Jacobo and Kenzie Meisenburg, earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-South Region honors.
Jacobo, a sophomore from Whittier, Calif., was named to the All-South Region first team as a designated player. She led the team in batting with a .366 average and slugging percentage with .522 and led the league in doubles with 20. Jacobo also garnered All-Conference First Team and All-Conference Tournament honors.
Meisenburg, a junior from Tucson, Ariz., played third base for the Cards and earned NFCA All-South Region second team honors. She finished the season with a .321 batting average, led the Cards in runs scored with 45 and was 19-25 in stolen bases. Meisenburg was also named to the All-Conference Tournament team.
Both players are also in contention for All-American honors.
Louisville finished the season with a 40-26 record and a third place finish in Conference USA.
