Field Hockey Players Earn National Academic Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Seven University of Louisville field hockey players were named to the 2000 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I National Academic Squad.
Sophomore Keri Beckhorn (Tunkhannock, Pa.), freshman Elisa Eshelman (Lititz, Pa.), freshman Christy Hershey (Palmyra, Pa.), freshman Casey Lehman (Palmyra, Pa.), sophomore Susan Sattazahn (Palmyra, Pa.), senior Heather Slider (Louisville, Ky.), and sophomore Jennifer Welgosh earned the academic honors for Louisville. Student-athletes must have achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.30 and be a starter or key reserve to be selected to the squad.
U of L (14-8) finished the season with a school record-setting 14 wins. The Cardinals finished third in the Mid-American Conference, advancing to the second round of the tournament for the first time since joining the conference in 1994.
