
Kadiri Hits NCAA Qualifying Mark and Finishes Third

Bloomington, Ind. - The University of Louisville women's track team produced some impressive performances at the Indiana Invitational this weekend. Junior thrower Shola Kadiri hit an NCAA qualifying mark with a throw of 17.86 meters. Kadiri finished third in the event. Sophomore vaulter Randelene Sergent won the pole vault, clearing 11-5 3/4.
Senior Kim Shore finished the mile run with a season-best time of 5:14.84, while sophomore Brittany Hedgepeth placed seventh in the Long Jump with a jump of 8-1/2.
Sophomore sprinter Alanna Mestelle finished with a season-best time of 7.73 in the 60 meter dash. Senior distance runner Kelly Thornton finished with a time of 2:21.61 in the 800 meter run, marking her season-best time.
"Shola had a very strong series of throws, overall in a super field of weight throwers," said head coach Gene Weis. "Both of our vaulters did a great job. Randelene's win in a large meet was particularly impressive."
