ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Colleen Hunter had 31 kills and eight blocks to lead Saint Louis University to a 3-2 win over the University of Louisville in Conference USA volleyball action.
The Cardinals, 13-4, fell 30-18, 26-30, 21-30, 30-19, 11-15 to drop their league mark to 8-3. Saint Louis improves to 8-9 and 5-4 in C-USA play.
"Momentum was swinging back and force and it was the team who had it last was the one who won," said U of L head coach Leonid Yelin.
Louisville had more kills, aces and digs than the Billikens but were out-hit .185 to .214. The Cardinals had four players in double digit kills led by Sonja Percan and Anastasia Zaitseva, who each had 20 kills. Zaitseva had an ace and 13 digs as well. Stacey Mercer and Benny Flynn had 12 kills and six blocks.
The Cardinals will hit the road again this Tuesday when they head to Huntington, WV to play Marshall in an added match.
