Cardinal Men's Golf Finishes Third At Kansas Invitational

LAWRENCE, Kan. - A final round showing of 299 (+11) by the Louisville Cardinal men's golf team pushed them into a third place showing at the Kansas Invitational. The 54-hole tournament was held in Lawrence, Kan. at the 7,092-yard Alvamar Golf Club.
For the second consecutive outing, the Cardinals were paced by a pair of local products - Chris Campbell (Male H.S.) and Danny Baron (Trinity).
Campbell fired a final round one-under 70 to vault into fifth place while Baron's 71 pulled him into a three-way tie for 10th. Campbell finished with a 54-hole score of +2 (218), just four shots behind medalist Ryan Vermeer of host Kansas.
Baron finished five shots behind his teammate at 223.
As a team, the Cards' 299 was tied for the second lowest round of the final 18. Team champion Missouri matched U of L showing while Iowa State posted a 294 to finish sixth.
