LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Christy Utter has been named assistant field hockey coach at the University of Louisville.
Utter, a graduate of the University of North Carolina, brings an impressive resume to the Louisville field hockey coaching staff. During her time there, the Tar Heels won the NCAA field hockey championship in 1995 and 1996. She was co-captain of the 1996 team, earned ACC All-Conference honors in 1996, was selected to the NCAA All-tournament team in 1995 and was named South Region All-American.
"Christy was an integral part of why North Carolina won two national championships," said Louisville head coach Pam Bustin. "Her experience and knowledge will be a valuable addition to our team."
Utter's coaching experiences include varsity field hockey coach of the Kinkaid School in Houston, Texas, head coach of the United States Field Hockey Association Futures Clinic at Houston, and summer camp coaching stints at Duke, North Carolina and Richmond.
"Christy is joining us at a great time in our program," said Bustin. "One of her many talents is identifying and communicating with young athletes. She'll serve as a bridge between where our program is now and our goal of becoming a national field hockey power."
