Four Cards Shine At Butler Twilight Meet

INDIANAPOLIS - Arnold Jackson, Zek Parker, Shola Kadiri and Randalene Sergent put in impressive performances for the University of Louisville track teams over the weekend at the Butler Twilight Meet in Indianapolis, Ind.
Football standouts Jackson and Parker won the long jump and the 100m dash, respectively. Jackson, competing in his first meet this season, won the long jump competition with a mark of 7.45 meters, while Parker won the 100m dash with a time of 10.72. Parker also finished third in the 110m hurdles (14.60) and fourth in the long jump (7.10m).
Brian Bickett placed second in the 200m dash with a time of 21.59. Louisville's 4x100 meter relay team finished second with a time of 41.31, marking the fastest time this season. Jackson also ran in the relay.
On the women's side, Kadiri won the shot put with a distance of 46'01.25 and finished second in the hammer throw with a mark of 48.36 meters. In the pole vault, Sergent cleared a personal-best of 11'06.00 to win event. Teammate Cindy Roberson cleared 11'00.00 to finish second.
Melissa Gale finished third in the hammer throw with a distance of 45.32 meters and junior Trish Young came in third in the javelin throw with a distance of 42.87 meters. Senior Delicia Haynes finished second in the triple jump with a season-best mark of 11.61 meters.
Freshman Marian McDonald finished third in the 100mdash with a personal-best time of 12.24 and senior Jen Carlsen ran a season-best time of 24.87 in the 200m dash to finish third.
