LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's track and field team earned yet another level of national recognition for the 2000 outdoor season by finishing ranked 37th on the final "Team Power Rankings" conducted by the USA Track & Field Coaches Association.
The "Team Power Rankings" rate a team's overall performance in all track and field events, as well as team depth and dual-meet scoring potential.
"This is yet another compliment to our program," said U of L head coach Gene Weis. "We've worked hard to develop a complete program, a true track and field team, which is uncommon in this day of event specialization. We've come such a long way in just a couple of years, and it's a credit to the athletes, as they have really taken up the challenge."
