Cardinal Rowers Win Two Of Three At Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The University of Louisville rowing team won two of three races over Ohio State Saturday afternoon on the Scioto River in Columbus.
The Cardinals captured the First Novice 8+ race with a time of 7:24.69, eight seconds ahead of the Ohio State shell.
In the Second Novice 8+ race, U of L raced to a first-place finish with a time of 8:05.03, which was also nearly eight seconds quicker than the OSU crew.
Ohio State won the first race of the day, as the Buckeyes' Novice 4+ `A' boat crossed the finish line first with a time of 9:41.08. OSU's "B" boat posted a second-place time of 9:51.55 and the Louisville boat came across with a time of 10:05.92.
"I am extremely proud of the team's performance today," said U of L head coach Julio Viyella. "We went out there with a race strategy and stuck with it the entire way. It was definitely a great day for us."
The Cardinals return to action when they travel to Clemson next Saturday.
