Oxford, Ohio - The University of Louisville women's cross country team finished fifth out of six teams in the Miami Fall Classic, while the men finished third out of four teams.
Leading the way for the women was senior Kim Shore. Shore finished 10th overall with a time of 23:54 in the 6,000 meter run. Next for the Cardinals was Marea Ingwersen with a time of 24:10.
Leading the way for the men was Mark Biros with a 10th place finish. Biros ran a time of 26:41 in the 8,000 meter race. Justin Banks was the second finisher for the Cardinals, finishing 22nd with a time of 27:49.
"Our people were running tired," said head coach Gene Weis. "But I still expected a little better. Kim and Marea did a good job, but we are not getting the kind of effort we need.
"Mark Biros ran solid for us in the men's race," said Weis. "He is finally beginning to round into shape. If he keeps improving, he has a good chance of earning all-conference honors."
