2007-08: Spent her first season with the Cards on the novice squad ... Closed the spring in the novice eight boat for a silver medal performance at the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships ... Was also in the novice eight boat in races against Tennessee and Indiana ... Opened the fall season in the novice eight boat which finished fifth at the Head of the Hooch and earned a win at the Head of the Eagle Regatta.
Prior to UofL: Did not row before joining the Cards' rowing program ... Was very busy athlete at Murray High School playing four years of basketball and softball, three years of golf, two years of soccer and one year of track and field.
Personal: Born Shannon Catherine Elias on Nov. 17, 1987 in Murray, Ky. ... Daughter of Don and Cathy Elias ... Majoring in sports administration ...
