2008-09: Dean's Scholar ... Dean's List ... Athletic Director's Honor Roll ... Red & Black Scholar ... Named CRCA National Scholar-Athlete ... BIG EAST Academic All-Star ... Spent the spring in the Cardinals' second varsity eight boat ... Rowed strong in Louisville's 2V8+ win at the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships, as well as second-place finishes at the BIG EAST Championships and Dale England Cup ... Also rowed for the 2V8+ crew in wins over Buffalo and Duke, a sixth-place finish in the petite final at the NCAA Regionals as well as races against Iowa, Michigan and Wisconsin.
2007-08: Named CRCA National Scholar-Athlete ... Dean's List ... Red & Black Scholar ... Rowed in the Cards' varsity four boat, which earned a fourth-place finish at the BIG EAST Championships and a second-place finish in the "C" final at the NCAA Regional ... Was also in the V4+ boat against Michigan and Michigan State ... Opened the spring in the Cardinals' second varsity eight boat against Tennessee and Indiana.
2006-07: Voted Most Improved Novice Rower by teammates ... Dean's Scholar ... Red & Black Scholar ... Began collegiate rowing career on the Cardinals' novice squad and gained enough experience to earn a position on the Cards' varsity roster by the end of the season ... Rowed in the three-seat of U of L's 2nd Varsity 4+ boat which advanced to the Open 4+ Grand Final at the NCAA South/Central Region Sprints earning a fourth-place finish overall ... Was a member of the Cards' Novice 8+ crew which defeated Tennessee.
Prior to UofL: Was a member of the Ballard High School dance team for three years ... 2006 graduate of Ballard High School.
Personal: Born Samantha Lyne Dale Seldon on June 11, 1988 in Toronto, Ont., Canada ... Daughter of Shane and Lyne Seldon ... Has four siblings, including Amy, Kaley, William and Megan ... Majoring in English with minors in political science and French ... Post-college ambition is to have great friends and be a good person ... Hobbies and outside interests include going to concerts and reading ... Chose the University of Louisville because of the unique opportunities offered ... Says the best thing about the city of Louisville are the restaurants in the Highlands ... Believes the best thing about U of L rowing is all of her fantastic and supportive teammates and the coaches ... Favorite class is International Law ... After graduation, she plans to do Teach for America ... Says the 2010 BIG EAST Championships will be her best race ...
