2023-24: At the Alabama Head of the Black Warrior River, aboard the 2V4 boat that finished fifth with a time of 18:46.7… At the Rivanna Romp, helped the V8 boat turn in a time of 13:44.9 for an eighth-place finish… At the Rivanna Romp rowed with the 2V4 boat that placed 15^th with a mark of 15:29.5… On the V8 boat that placed second with a time of 6:36.331 in the evening session and concluded the ORCI with a first-place finish, clocking in at 6:38.632… At the Sunshine State Invitational, aboard the V8 boat that finished fourth on day one with a time of 7:19.56 and went on to a first place showing in the petite final (6:41.56)… At the SIRA Championship helped the V8 boat to a first place showing in its semifinal with a time of 6:39.977, they went on to win the ‘A’ final with a time of 6:38.351… At the Lake Wheeler Invitational, on the V8 boat that placed fourth in its heat the morning session with a time of 6:56.079 and again in afternoon session (7:10.377); the V8s wrapped up Lake Wheeler placing first in their heat with a time of 6:48.945… At the ACC Rowing Championship, helped the V8 boat to a third place showing in the petite finals with a time of 6:35.638.

2022-23: On Saturday morning at ORCI, Sophie rowed in the 3V8 boat that finished third with a 7:08.263. In the afternoon session at the ORCI, she rowed in the 3V8 boat that finished third with a time of 7:04.226. At the Sunshine State Invitational, she was aboard the 2V4 that put up a fifth place finish, turning in a 7:46.54. In the petite final of the SSI 2V4, she rowed the Cardinals to a second place finish with a time of 7:51.89. In the prelims of the ACC Championship in Raleigh, she rowed the 3V8 boat to a third place finish in 7:11.992 to advance to the grand final. In the grand final of the ACC Championships, she rowed the 3V8 boat to a sixth place finish with a time of 7:25.658.

2021-22: At the Lake Wheeler Invitational, Payton helped the 3V8 boat to a third place finish with a time of 7:22.189. In the head-to-head competition with Michigan, she was in the 3V8 boat that boarded a time of 7:20.56. At the ACC Championships at Clemson, she was in the 3V8 boat that finished fifth in the grand final with a time of 6:57.125. Payton joined the Cardinals as a novice this season.
