Bio
2023-24: Vlad qualified for the NCAA Championships as a relay swimmer. He helped the Cards to a 14th place in the 200 free relay (1:16.15) and the 400 free relay team that finished 15th with a time of 2:48.55 to win HM All-American honors in both events. At the ACC Championships in Greensboro, Vlad was 21st in the 50 free (19.69), and was on the seventh place 200 free relay (1:15.97). In the dual meet season, Vlad was fourth in the 50 free (23.20) and fifth in the 100M free (51111.44) at Tennessee. Against Notre Dame, he was on the winning 400 free relay (2:58.18). In the rivalry meet with Kentucky, he was fourth in the 50 free (20.19) and was on both the 200 medley relay and the 400 free relay. Against Cincinnati, he was fourth in the 200 free (1:38.68).
2022-23: As a relay alternate at the NCAA, he helped the Cardinals to a 1:15.95 in the 200 Free Relay for the second fastest time in school history. At the ACC Championships, he scored 14 points staring with a bronze medal as part of the 200 Free Relay team that clocked in at 1:15.90 with his anchor of 19.02 which set the school record. He made the B-final in the 50 free with a 14th place time of 19.69. He was in the C-final of the 100 free where he went 43.57 for 24th place. During the dual meet season, he was fourth in the 100 free versus Xavier and fourth in the 50 free at Notre Dame. At the Purdue Invitational, he scored 36 points with a seventh-place finish in the 50 free, a ninth place in the 100 fly and a fourth place in the 100 free. He was also on the winning 200 Free Relay. At Missouri, he was third in the 50 free (20.14) and seventh in the 100 fly. At Kentucky, he was third in the 100 free (44.09) and sixth in the 100 fly (49.20) and seventh in the 200 free (1:38.56). Against Indiana, he placed fifth in the 50 free (20.29) and sixth in the 100 fly (50.35). He won the 100 freestyle on Senior Day against Cincinnati with a 43.60.
2021-22: Sprinter Vlad Dubinin is in his first year as a Cardinal. At ACC’s, he put up a 19.90 in the finals of the 50 Freestyle and went 1:38.56 in the 200 free and 44.07 in the 100 free. At NCAAs, he swam the third leg in the 200 free relay with a 19:02 split. During the dual meet season, he turned in a second place finish in the 100 freestyle with a time of 43.48. Against Indiana, he placed 8th in the 200 free with a time of 1:41.60. Against Cincinnati, he won the 100 free with a time of 43.73 and was second in the 50 free with a time of 19.93. At the Tennessee Last Chance Meet, he was second in the 100 free with a time of 43.30 and won the 50 free finals in 19.79. He was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the Fall and Spring and the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
Prep: Vladimir came to Louisville from Moscow where he was a member of the Russian National Team. He was a medalist at the 2017 Junior European Champions and competed at the 2019 International University Games participant. He was a finalist at the 2019 Russian Championships with a sixth place finish in the 100 free. In 2020, he was a two-time finalist at the Russian Short Course Championships with a third place finish in the 100 free and a fifth place finish in the 50 free.
