Sophomore: Coakley showed some depth on the squad with a couple third place finishes in the 200-butterfly against Xavier with a time of 2:07.98 and in the 200-fly in a dual meet with Cincinnati and Houston. She added a fourth place finish in the dual meet with a 58.34 time in the 100-fly. Coakley also finished fourth in 56.03 in the 100-butterfly and had the second fastest prelim time with a time of 55.75.
Freshman: Coakley swam exhibition events at the BIG EAST Championships in her freshman year where she swam a best time of 2:02.97 in the 200-butterfly. She also swam season best times in the 100-butterfly in 55.97, and the 500-freestyle in 5:12.80. At the Purdue Invite, Coakley's first meet, she swam the 100- and 200-butterfly in 57.42, and 2:07.41 respectively and her prelim 200-butterfly time was a 2:05.61 She also swam the 500-freestyle for 5:14.62. Coakley was also named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
Prep: Kentucky native Emma Coakley joins the Cardinals by way of the Elizabethtown Dolphins Swim Team where she was coached by Maviael Sampaio. She represented her team at the USA Junior National Championship in Palo Alto, Calif. in the 100- and 200-butterfly, qualifying with a time of 1:03.53 (LCM) this past summer. Emma has earned multiple top five finishes at the Region 3 high school meet and has been named Region Competitor of the Year. She was a four-time team MVP and still holds multiple records. She is an exceptional student and has been named a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American and Academic First Team.
