Bio
Senior: Jahns continued to add valuable distance freestyle depth during her final sendoff as a Cardinal. At the Purdue Invitational, she finished sixth in the 1650 freestyle (16:53.16), eighth in the 400 individual medley (4:19.83), and 15th in the 500 freestyle (4:57.08). She also won the 400 individual medley (4:22.98) at the UofL First Chance Meet. During the dual meet season, Jahns posted 10 top-eight finishes and placed a season-high third place in the 1000 freestyle (10:33.54) against Xavier. For her performances in both the pool and in the classroom, Jahns was named to the ACC Honor Roll.
Junior: Jahns’ top performance of the season came at the IU Invitational, where she recorded season-best times in each of her individual events. At the meet, she finished 14th in the 1650 free (16:47.43), 15th in the 400 IM (4:18.90), 18th in the 500 free (4:53.28) and 22nd in the 200 back (2:01.56). Throughout the dual meet season, Jahns scored at a number of meets, including second place finishes in the 1650 against Virginia and in the 1000 against Xavier.
Sophomore: As a member of the distance squad, Jahns provided valuable points for the Cards at the ACC Championships. She placed 20th in the 1650 free (16:39.78), 23rd in the 500 free (4:51.35) and 25th in the 400 IM (4:19.53) at the championships. Throughout the dual meet season, Jahns tallied a number of top finishes in the distance events, highlighted by third place showings in the 1000 free against Indiana and Tennessee. Jahns also excelled in the classroom, earning CSCAA Scholar All-America honors.
Freshman: As a freshman, Jahns put up some impressive performances in the distance events for the Cardinals. At the Ohio State Winter Invitational, she won all three of her events, achieving times of 4:51.64 in the 500 free, 16:34.31 in the 1650 free, and 4:19.05 in the 400 IM. She also competed in the US Open Swimming Championships, swimming the 400-meter IM (4:57.95), 400-meter free (4:24.02), and 800-meter free (9:01.91). At the Arena Pro Swim Series in Atlanta, she swam the 200-meter IM, 400-meter IM, 400-meter free, 800-meter free, and placed 10th in the 1500-meter free (17:19.41). In the dual meet win over Xavier, Jahns took the top spot in the 1000 free (10:10.83), 200 fly (2:06.61), and 200 back (2:06.89). At the UofL Invitational, she finished in the top-eight in both the 400 IM (4:24.35) and the 1650 free (16:56.07).Â
Prep: Jahns continues the Indiana connection for the Cardinals, coming from Fishers, Ind. where she attends Fishers High School and competes for FAST in club. She is a junior and senior national qualifier, three-time NCSA finalist, two-time senior state champion a two-time Team Indiana Select Camp member and USA Swimming Zone Select Camp qualifier. Jahns was named All-State and a Scholastic All-American and was a team captain for Fishers High School. She also received the Tiger Claw Award for hardest worker in 2015. In the classroom, Jahns is a member of NHS and Honor Roll. Her best time in the 200-IM is 2:02.66, 4.20.29 in the 400-IM, and 16:47.39 in the 1650 free.Â
