Bio
Junior: Tichenor posted several strong performances throughout her junior campaign. She finished sixth in the 100 butterfly and eighth in the 100 backstroke against Kentucky while taking third in the 50 freestyle versus Cincinnati.
Sophomore: Tichenor continued to add more depth to the Cardinals’ lineup during her second season. She won the 100 butterfly (54.01), 200 butterfly (2:00.67), and 100 backstroke (54.97) at the UofL First Chance Invitational and finished 16th in both the 100 butterfly (56.23) and 100 backstroke (57.03) at the Purdue Invitational. She also consistently scored points throughout dual meet competition, highlighted by a fourth-place finish in the 200 butterfly (2:08.66) against Xavier. For her performances in both the pool and in the classroom, Tichenor was named to the ACC Honor Roll.
Freshman: As a freshman, Tichenor added depth to the Cards’ butterfly events. At the Louisville First Chance Invitational, she finished first in both the 100 (54.50) and 200 fly (1:59.45), both personal best times. At the IU Invitational, she took 12th in the 100 fly and 15th in the 200 fly, while also competing in the 200 IM. In the dual meet season, she scored valuable points in the Cards’ wins over Northwestern, Tennessee and Xavier.
Prep: Tichenor joins the Cardinals from just outside Louisville in Prospect, Ky., where she attended North Oldham High School and swam club for Cardinal Aquatics under coach Amy Albiero. As one of the top recruits out of the state of Kentucky, Tichenor finished her high school career as a seven-time All-American, adding an individual bronze medal in the 200 IM and multiple relay medals. She also held the school records in the 200 IM, 400 free, 200 free and 200 medley relay. At the club level, Tichenor was a five-time finalist at Winter Junior Nationals and helped Cardinal Aquatics to a number of top relay finishes throughout her career, including a gold in the 4x50 medley relay. She holds best times of 55.03 in the 100 fly, 2:01.30 in the 200 fly, 2:02.35 in the 200 IM and 4:22.76 in the 400 IM.
