Bio
Senior: Else qualified for the Paris Olympics in the 10M Platform to become the first-ever Cardinal diver to compete in the Olympics. She qualified by finishing 11th on the 10M platform in the World Aquatics Championships in Doha, Qatar. At the NCAA Championships, she finished fourth in platform with a score of 290.30. She was 34th in 1M springboard and 29th on the 3M board. At the ACC Championships, she won two silver medals, one on the 1M board (306.80) and the platform (313.20) and placed seventh in the 3M board (310.05). At the House of Champions competition, she won the 3M with a 302.75 and was third in the 1M (297.20). At the American Cup, she was seventh in the platform (288.30). At the NCAA Zone Qualifier, she was fifth in the iM and third in the #M and was second on the platform. During the dual season, she had wins in the Platform versus Missouri. Against Notre Dame, she was second in the 1M (285.53) and third in the 3M (301.20) and won both boards against Tennessee with a 291.53 in 1M and 316.73 in the 3M. She won ACC Diver of the Week
Junior: Else had a history-making season in 2022-23. She earned All-American honors as a finalist in the 3M when she finished 8th with a 328.10. In platform, she also made the finals and finished 8th with a 270.70. At Zone Qualfier, Else Praasterink set a new school record when she finished second on the platform with a mark of 349.75 and her overall total for both rounds was 649.35 which allowed her to also compete on the 3M springboard at NCAAs as well. At ACCs, she was a silver medalist in the platform with a score of 333.20 in the finals. She made the finals in the 3M where she finished fifth with a 322.45. In the regular season, she had wins in platform against Cincinnati, and Kentucky. Else qualified for the European Games and the World Championships in Japan.
Sophomore: Else Praasterink had a breakout season last year, finishing tenth on the platform at NCAAs with a mark of 307.70. She finished second at the NCAA Zone C Championships on the platform with a score of 592.05. At ACCs, she was 18th in the 1M (230.75), and 18th in the 3M with a score of 275.90. She won silver on the platform with a score of 321.45. She swept the 3M (298.20), and platform (290.93) at the Louisville Invitational. She won platform versus Cincinnati (245.70). She won 3M versus Kentucky (306.75) and swept 1M (254.48) and 3M (306.00) versus Xavier. A member of the Dutch National team, she made the finals at the 2022 World Championships in Budapest where she finished 11thon the platform. She also repped her country at the Junior World Championships in Kyiv, Ukraine in December. A star student, she was named to the ACC Academic Honor and the University of Louisville AD Honor Roll.
Freshman: Praasterink had a standout debut season on the boards with the Cardinals. She qualified for the NCAA Championships after placing fifth on the platform with a score of 519.05 at the NCAA Zone C Championships. She then went on to finish 30th with a score of 231.35 at NCAAs. At the ACC Championships, she dove to eighth on the platform (253.35), 25th on the 1-meter (241.90), and 29th on the 3-meter (233.35). Praasterink took third on the 3-meter and fifth on the 1-meter against Kentucky while placing fifth on both boards against Notre Dame.
Prep: Prassterink arrives in Louisville from Eindhoven, Netherlands, where she was a member of the Dutch National Diving Team. At the Scottish National and Open Diving Championships in 2019, she tied for first on the platform. She also finished eighth on the platform at the 2019 European Junior Championships.
