Bio
Senior: Lowe continued her high-performing ways for the Cardinals during her senior season. At the ACC Championships, she placed 14th in the 400 individual medley (4:16.54), 16th in the 200 butterfly (2:00.41), and 28th in the 200 individual medley (2:01.60). Throughout the abbreviated 2020-21 dual meet season, she posted six top-8 finishes highlighted by a runner-up showing in the 200 butterfly against Cincinnati. She also finished fifth in the 200 butterfly against both Kentucky and Notre Dame.
Junior: Lowe continued to make a splash for the Cardinals throughout her junior campaign, scoring points at the ACC Championships after finishing 16th in both the 200 butterfly (1:59.83) and 400 individual medley (4:16.74). At the Purdue Invitational, she raced to fourth in the 400 individual medley (4:16.42), ninth in the 200 butterfly (1:59.34), and 13th in the 200 individual medley (2:02.08). Lowe registered 10 top-eight finishes during the dual meet season, including a runner-up showing in the 200 butterfly (2:04.09) against Xavier. For her performances in both the pool and in the classroom, Lowe was named to the ACC Honor Roll.
Sophomore: As a sophomore, Lowe earned a spot on the Cards’ ACC Championships team for the second consecutive season. At the meet, she qualified to finals in both the 200 fly (2:00.36) and 400 IM (4:19.95), finishing 21st and 23rd respectively. At the IU Invitational, Lowe added a ninth place finish in the 200 fly with a season-best time of 1:59.44, while also taking 12th in the 400 IM with another season-best time of 4:16.42. Highlights from the dual meet season include a third place finish in the 200 fly in the Cards’ victory over Xavier and a pair of fourth place finishes in the 200 fly and 400 IM in the win against Northwestern. Lowe competed in the 400m IM at the Phillips 66 National Championships, finishing with a time of 4:54.46.
Freshman: Lowe made an immediate impact for the Cardinals in her debut season, competing primarily in the IM and butterfly events. At the ACC Championships, she scored 28 points for Louisville, placing 11th in the 200 fly (1:58.93) and 15th in the 400 IM (4:15.88). Lowe also put together a strong performance at the Winter National Championships, finishing eighth in 200 fly and ninth in the 400 IM. She competed at the Phillips 66 National Championships, racing the 200-meter fly (2:18.27) and 400-meter IM (4:57.65). In the dual meet season, she recorded a number of top finishes, including third place showings in the 200 fly against Tennessee and Notre Dame and in the 400 IM against Michigan. Lowe also excelled in the classroom, earning Honorable Mention CSCAA Scholar All-America Honors.
Prep: Hailing from Orlando, Florida, Carley joins the Cardinals as a fly and IM specialist. She swam for Lake Highland Prep and the Highlander Aquatic Club under coach Mike Curley. Carley was team captain of Lake Highland Prep, where she was an FHSAA state champion, All-American, and was voted MVP in her senior year. For Highlander Aquatic Club, she was a 2016 Olympic Trials qualifier and the team record-holder in the 200 fly, 200 IM, and 400 IM.
Personal: Daughter of Astrid and Jon Lowe. Born on August 18, 1999.
