UofL legend Peyton Siva enters his second season on staff at the University of Louisville under Pat Kelsey in 2025-26. It will be his first season as an assistant coach as he was previously the program's Director of Player Development/Basketball Alumni Relations.
In Siva’s first year on staff at Louisville, the Cardinals produced a 27-8 record finishing second in the ACC with an 18-2 league record. UofL also finished runner-up in the league at the ACC Tournament, making the program’s first-ever appearance in an ACC Championship game. The Cards earned an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament as an eight-seed, returning to the Big Dance for the first time since 2019.
Siva was crucial in the development of ACC Defensive Player of the Year, UofL starting point guard Chucky Hepburn. Siva, one of Louisville's greatest point guards of all-time, worked regularly with Hepburn and the other guards - Hepburn was ultimately named to the All-ACC First Team and an AP Honorable Mention All-American. The Cardinals were one of the most improved teams in the country both in total wins from the previous season and in NET ranking from the end of 2023-24 to the end of 2024-25.
In his Louisville playing career, Siva scored 1,215 points from 2009-13, serving as a team captain in each of his final two seasons.
The Seattle native is one of only three players to be named the Most Outstanding Player of the Big East Tournament twice. He was also the Big East Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2012-13.
Siva ranked first and third in UofL history for most assists in a single season, as well as second for most assists in a career. His 90 steals in 2012-13 were the most ever in a season by a Cardinal, and he had the second-most steals in a UofL career.
Siva was selected in the second round of the 2013 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons and went on to play pro ball domestically and overseas for 10 years.
He returned to Louisville with his family following his playing career and is part of “The Ville” TBT alumni team. He also opened a “Shoot 360” basketball training facility in the city in 2023.
