Junior Season (2009): Played in all 17 games for the University of Louisville, starting in 15 of them... Picked up 24 ground balls, including 3 against Georgetown in the BIG EAST Tournament, against UC Davis just a week later, and against Rutgers on April 3rd... Recorded two draw controls and nine caused turnovers... Had three caused turnovers against UC Davis.
Sophomore Season (2008): Started all 16 games for the Cards on defense... She caused eight turnovers in her fi rst season in Louisville, including a season-high two in the Cards' 21-3 win over Bryant University in the season-opener... Also picked up five ground balls.
Prior to U of L: Competed for one season at Ohio before transferring after the program was discontinued... She played in all 16 games in 2006 and started in 11 for the Bobcats... She picked up 11 ground balls, caused two turnovers and was named to the American Lacrosse Conference Academic Honor Roll as a freshman.
High School: Earned three varsity letters in lacrosse for coaches Chandler Vicchio and Mike Tirrochi at Mount de Sales... Also earned two letters in volleyball for coaches Marty McCrone and Kenny Mills and two letters in basketball for McCrone and coach Diane McGuire... She played club lacrosse for ROME Lacrosse.
Personal: Born on May 1, 1987... Daughter of Chris Nevin and Joyce Nevin... She has three siblings: Kelly (20), Laura (18) and Sean (14)... Double-major at UofL in accounting and fi nance... Sister Laura plays lacrosse at Navy.
Q&A with Colleen: Her post-college ambition is to work in a public accounting firm... Biggest thrill in sports is double teams on defense and taking the ball away from opposing attacks... Michael Jordan is the athlete she most admires... The most impressive thing about Coach Young to her is her passion and that she is a strong woman... Her biggest obstacle to overcome was suffering an ACL injury during her recruiting in high school... The person with the greatest infl uence on her athletic career is Lisa Staedt... Hobbies include yoga and reading... Getting to the locker room early is her pre-game superstition...Her favorite movies are Miracle, 300, and My Best Friend's Girl... Her favorite TV show is NCIS... Favorite foods are chicken parmesan and spinach... The best description of her is hardworking, driven, and intense... The best advice given to her about sports is to just go play and leave it all out there... She would have Angelina Jolie play her in a movie... If she could have dinner with three people (living or deceased), it would be her Great-Grandma Shell, Great-Grandma Wilson, and Great-Pop Nevin... She chose U of L because of the athletics and the support they have... Best part of being an athlete is being in shape and her team... The strangest thing to happen to her in a game was tripping on the turf for no reason... Her favorite season is autumn.
