Karl Maslowski is in his first season as a quality control coach at Louisville.
Maslowski owns nine years of experience as a special teams coordinator at the FBS and Division II levels. As a coordinator, his punt units finished in the top 30 nationally six times and his punt return defense ranked there four times in nine seasons.
A former special teams coordinator with over nine years of experience, Maslowski came to Louisville from Northern Michigan, where he served spent six seasons from 2013-18. He worked as the running backs and tight ends coach, while also directing the special teams units in 2017-18. He started his career at NMU in 2013, coaching the linebackers and guiding the special teams.
As the running backs coach, Maslowski played an integral role in his rushers setting three school rushing records and developing the school’s first Harlon Hill nominee.
Prior to his time at Northern Michigan, worked three seasons at his alma mater Western Kentucky, coaching the linebackers in 2010-11 and coordinating the special teams in 2012. His 2011 special teams units finished in the top25 nationally in four different statistical categories.
As a recruiter, Maslowski played a role in securing the No. 1 recruiting classes in the Sun Belt back-to-back seasons/
Maslowski played collegiately at Western Kentucky, where he was an All-American linebacker from 1999-2003 and earned a bachelor’s degree public health education in 2004. He helped guide the Hilltoppers to a 1-AA national title in 2002 and was named the team’s Most Valuable Player and academic all-conference during the 2003 campaign.
Maslowski is married to the former Brittney Long and the couple has three children: Lila, Stella and Donovan.
