University of Louisville field hockey coach Justine Sowry has announced that former Cardinal standout Erin McCrudden has joined her staff as a volunteer assistant.
McCrudden played for the Cardinals under coach Sowry from 2013-16. She earned All-America honors her senior season (2016) after posting a career-best senior campaign which included All-ACC second team honors. The two-time NFHCA All-West Region selection led the ACC and was second in the nation with 18 assists.  She still stands second on Louisville’s single-season list for assists.
The Yorktown Heights, N.Y. native was named to the U.S. Women's National Development Squad in 2016 and went on to earn a spot on the U.S. Women's National Team, competing in 13 international caps. She continued her stint with the USA Field Hockey Development team through 2019.
McCrudden was selected as a 2017 Weaver-James-Corrigan Award recipient in conjunction with the Atlantic Coast Conference.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in health and human performance in 2017. The two-time ACC honor roll selection. earned NFHCA National Academic Squad honors twice and has been named to the Athletic Director's honor roll four times.
