COMPLIANCE
Compliance thoroughly educates all student-athletes, coaches, and staff as well as outside constituents about NCAA, ACC, and university regulations. It is the goal of Compliance to uphold institutional control and compliance for the University of Louisville and its stakeholders.
Learning objectives for the Compliance Intern include, but are not limited to:
- Develop understanding of NCAA Bylaws 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 or at least know where to find the bylaw in the manual as well as be able to search interpretations on LSDBi, more specifically:
- Bylaw 12/14: Gain understanding of the NCAA Eligibility Center process
- Bylaw 13: Gain understanding of the NCAA rules surrounding recruiting and monitoring
- Bylaw 15: Develop understanding of the rules surrounding student-athlete athletics
- Bylaw 16: Gain understanding of the rules surrounding student-athlete awards
- Bylaw 17: Gain understanding of the playing seasons surrounding each sport
- Develop ability to use and navigate certain compliance systems such as Compliance Assistant, ARMS, TeamWorks, Peoplesoft and LSDBi
- Develop ability to complete a high school transcript while advising prospective student-athletes on course selection
- Gain understanding of the certification process of continuing student-athletes and the eligibility rules to certify coaches recruiting logs
- Develop ability to understand the rules surrounding unofficial and official visits as well as the submission process
- Gain understanding of the complimentary ticket approval process scholarships benefits
