In the middle of Cardinal Park is the Track and Soccer Stadium, which provides a state-of-the-art track encircling an international-quality soccer field with Bermuda grass for the Cardinal soccer teams. The lighted stadium provides bleacher seating for approximately 2,200 fans and is complete with a 25' x 35' Daktronics scoreboard (connected to a multi-camera Finishlynx timing system), locker rooms, a fully-equipped training room and a climate-controlled press box.
The track surface is Martin ISS 2000 "embedded" and has nine 48" lanes. All jump areas (high, long/triple and vault) are located in large "D" zones inside each turn. The steeple water jump is also inside the turn and is adaptable for the women's event.
The throws field is approximately 500 meters south and west of the stadium and provides lightly brushed concrete circles and a full rubberized javelin runway.
Along with hosting all Cardinal soccer and track and field competitions, the complex has hosted the 2004 and 2002 Conference USA Track and Field Championships and various high school soccer games and track meets.
The Cardinal Park Sportsplex, the main building attached to the stadium, houses the Nancy and Harry Jones Training Room, the Bonnie Rechter Wing with enhanced locker rooms, meeting rooms, concession areas, public restrooms and a Cardinal Store.
