Cards Land Four on NFHCA Collegiate Watchlist

Lauren Masters, Jaelen Perez, Gracie Potter, Annabel Sep earn the NFHCA preseason honor
The University of Louisville placed four players on the 2026 NFHCA Collegiate Watch List. Seniors Lauren Masters and Annabel Sep along with sophomores Jaelen Perez and Gracie Potter represent the Cardinals on the national list.

This marks the second straight time Masters has earned national preseason recognition. The midfielder/forward from Pittstown, N.J. has been a member of the USA Field Hockey U21 Team for the past four years, recently helping them to a first-place finish at the 4 Nations Tournament. She earned NFHCA All-West Region second team honors in 2025 after scoring three goals and dishing out four assists.

• Sep, a defender from Amsterdam, The Netherlands was also a 2026 Preseason All-ACC selection and was named to the 2025 All-ACC and NFHCA All-West Region second teams. She was impressive in her first season as a Cardinal, playing in all 18 games and helping Louisville to a pair of defensive shutouts and a 1.67 goals against average while registering four goals and two assists.

• Perez, a sophomore from Broadlands, Va. was a member of the USA Field Hockey U18 team in 2025. She played in 17 games as a freshman and was a solid component of the Cardinals' defense

• Potter, a sophomore from Whangarei, New Zealand was recently named to New Zealand's U21 Team and will compete in the upcoming Junior World Cup qualifier. In 2025, she played in all 18 games and tallied two goals with two assists.

• The 2026 NFHCA Watchlist is intended to showcase those field hockey student-athletes with the strongest potential for consideration to the current year's NFHCA All-Region and All-America teams. To be nominated, student-athletes must have been previously recognized for their outstanding field hockey abilities within the past two years including: NFHCA All-Region, NFHCA All-America, All-Conference, USAFH Senior Nexus Championship selection, NCAA All-Tournament Team, and/or U.S. National or International Team roster.
The No. 18-ranked Cardinals will open the 2026 campaign on Friday when they play host to No. 10 Miami (Ohio) at 12 p.m. at Trager Stadium.Â
