Sep Earns Preseason All-ACC Field Hockey Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The University of Louisville's Annabel Sep has been selected to the Preseason All-Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Team in a vote by the league's nine head coaches.

Sep, a senior defender from Amsterdam, The Netherlands looks to lead the Cardinals in the backfield following an impressive junior campaign. In 2025, she earned National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-West Region second team and All-ACC second team honors after scoring four goals and dishing out two assists.

North Carolina was selected as the preseason favorite to win the ACC title, collecting four of the nine possible first-place votes, totaling 73 total points. Virginia was tabbed as the runner-up, with two first-place votes and 68 total points while Duke and Wake Forest each totaled 64 points in the preseason poll to tie for third place. Syracuse, Boston College, Stanford, Louisville and California round out the preseason poll.

In 2025, the Cardinals posted an 8-10 record and reached the quarterfinals of the ACC Championship which was held at Trager Stadium. They return 16 letterwinners and welcome eight newcomers to this year's squad.

Louisville will play host to Bellarmine in a preseason scrimmage Wednesday at 5 p.m. The Cards will officially open the season on August 28 at Trager Stadium.
