
6-Seed Louisville Heads to Buffalo for NCAA Tournament

The Cardinals will play 11-seed South Florida at 1:30 p.m. ET on Thursday afternoon at the KeyBank Center
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville men's basketball was selected as a 6-seed in the East Regional of the NCAA Tournament and is due to play 11-seed South Florida in Buffalo, N.Y. in the KeyBank Center on Thursday, March 19 at 1:30 p.m. ET on TNT.
The winner of the Cardinals' Round of 64 game will play the winner of 3-seed Michigan State versus 14-seed North Dakota State.
Louisville's open practice in Buffalo is 11:45 a.m. - 12:25 p.m. on Wednesday.
Louisville (23-10) is 29-4 all-time against South Florida as old Metro, Conference USA, Big East and American Conference foes, including a 2-0 mark on a neutral court. The last time the teams met was Feb. 18, 2014 in Louisville's lone year in the American when the Cardinals defeated the Bulls 80-45.
This is Louisville's fourth time as a 6-seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Cardinals are 6-3 all-time as a 6-seed and have advanced to the Elite 8 (1997), Sweet 16 (1996) and second round (2007). UofL has never played an NCAA Tournament game in Buffalo.
This is UofL head coach Pat Kelsey's sixth NCAA Tournament bid over his 14-year head coaching career.
South Florida (25-8) is the 2026 American Athletic Conference Champion, defeating Wichita State in the final earlier Sunday. The Bulls are entering the NCAA Tournament on an 11-game win streak.
