
No. 10/11 Cardinals Host Notre Dame on Senior Day

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville women's basketball team (25-5, 15-2 ACC) is back at home for the final time in the regular season this weekend. The Cardinals are set to host Notre Dame (19-9, 11-6 ACC) on Sunday, March 1 at the KFC Yum! Center for Senior Day as the senior class will be honored prior to the game. The game is set to begin at 4 p.m. ET and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2.
The Cardinals are coming off of a 69-50 win on the road over Georgia Tech this past Thursday. With the win, Louisville finished the regular season undefeated on the road for the first time in program history. The Cards are one of three Power Conference teams (UConn, UCLA) to be undefeated on the road this season. With the win over the Yellow Jackets, the Cardinals secured the No. 2 seed in the ACC Tournament next week in Duluth, Georgia.
Elif Istanbulluoglu continues her strong play against Georgia Tech and increases her candidacy for the ACC's Most Improved Player. She led the team with 18 points on 6-for-12 shooting with three rebounds, three assists and two steals. It was the second-straight game she has scored 18 or more points and the second-straight game she has led the team in scoring. 10 of her 13 games scoring in double digits this season have come against ACC foes. In ACC play this season, she is averaging 11.4 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Last season in ACC play, she averaged 2.4 points and 1.5 rebounds per game.
Imari Berry put up another double digit performance against Georgia Tech with 13 points on 6-for-12 shooting. She is averaging 11.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists in ACC play this season and is a candidate for ACC 6th Player of the Year. Berry would be the first Louisville player to win 6th Player of the Year since Dana Evans. When Evans won in 2018-19, she averaged 10.1 points, 3.9 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game.
