
No. 9 Cardinals Begin Homestand Against Wake Forest

Four of the last five regular season games will be at home
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The No. 9 Louisville women's basketball team (22-4, 12-1 ACC) is back home this week to open up a three-game homestand at the KFC Yum! Center. Up first for the Cardinals will be the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (13-12, 3-10 ACC) on Thursday, February 12. The Cards and Demon Deacons will square off at 7 p.m. ET and it will be streamed on the ACC Network Extra.
The Cardinals are coming down the final stretch of the season and four of their last five games will be at home after spending most of the previous three weeks on the road. The Cardinals just finished a stretch where five of their last seven games have been on the road. Louisville tallied a 6-1 record during that stretch and were a perfect 5-0 on the road. So far this season, Louisville is 8-0 in road games.
In the 84-65 win at Syracuse this last Sunday, Louisville raced out to an early lead and never looked back after a dominant first quarter. The Cardinals outscored the Orange 28-6 over the opening 10 minutes and held Syracuse without a field goal for the entire quarter. It was the second time in program history that they did not allow an opponent to hit a field goal in an entire quarter.
The Cards had four players in double figures led by Laura Ziegler, who tied a season high with 22 points on 10-for-13 shooting. Mackenly Randolph had a career day as she scored a career-best 15 points, led the team with eight rebounds and tied a career high with four assists. Tajianna Roberts had 12 points, tied for the team lead with five assists and tied a season high with five rebounds. Imari Berry rounded the group in double figures with 15 points, tied the team lead with five assists and tied a career high with four steals.

The Cardinals were perfect from the floor (4-for-4) and from behind the arc (2-for-2) in overtime as they won their fourth-straight game and improved to 3-1 in ACC play. It was the Cardinals first win in overtime since December of 2019. Tajianna Roberts scored in double figures for the 12th time this season with 17 points against the Demon Deacons. Olivia Cochran (13 points) and Jayda Curry (11 points) both scored in double figures in the overtime win.
