
Cards 21st in Fall Learfield Cup Standings

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville athletics department closed out the 2025 fall semester in 21st place in the Learfield Directors' Cup Division I standings released on Friday.
Louisville totaled 207 points across its fall sports and is one of nine ACC schools ranked in the top 25, the most of any conference in the country. The Big Ten Conference recorded seven teams, the second-most nationally.
UofL accrued points in volleyball, football, women's soccer and men's cross country, with all four teams reaching their respective postseasons.

Louisville volleyball put together another solid season, finishing with an appearance in the Sweet 16 and a 26-7 overall mark. Louisville fell in five sets to the eventual national champion Texas A&M.
The men's cross country team wrapped up the 2025 season, placing 26th as a team at the 2025 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships. The Louisville men battled with the nation's top teams to finish just outside the top 25, defeating five teams that were ranked in the USTFCCCA National Coaches Poll.
Women's soccer finished the season 13-5-3 overall, their most wins in a single season since 2019. The Cardinals advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2019 and made it to the second round for the third time in program history. Louisville set school records for goals (53), assists (60) and points (166).
Under third-year head coach Jeff Brohm, the Cardinals won nine games for the third-straight season, finishing with a win in the Boca Raton Bowl with a 27-22 win over Toledo.
The LEARFIELD Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
