Track & Field Ready for Split Weekend

The teams will be represented at the Crossroads of America Invitational and the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville track & field teams will continue their season this weekend while splitting between a pair of meets: the Crossroads of America Invitational and the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic.
The Crossroads of America Invitational will take place over two days on Jan. 23-24 at the Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion in Indianapolis, Ind., while the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic will be contested at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center in Louisville on Friday, Jan. 23.

The Cards will be represented at the Crossroads of America Invitational in Indianapolis by a group of jumpers and pole vaulters.
The two-day event will begin for Louisville athletes on Friday at 2:00 p.m. with the open section of the women's long jump.
Ashley Callahan will lead the charge for the Cardinals in her first appearance since clearing an NCAA-leading mark of 4.48m (14-8.25) in the women's pole vault at the Bellarmine Open on Jan. 16, setting a new Louisville school record in the process.
The current program record holder in the men's pole vault will also compete in Indianapolis, as Ty McPhail returns to the runway after raising the bar to 5.40m (17-8.5) at the Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational on Jan. 10.

A small group of throwers and combined event athletes will remain in Louisville for the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic on Friday with the meet set to begin at 10:00 a.m. ET when the invitational sections of both the men's and women's shot put get underway.
Admission to the meet will cost $10 for adults and $7 for children between ages 4 and 17, while kids ages 3 and under are free. Parking at the facility will also be available for a $5 charge.
Kaia Tupu-South, a 2025 World Athletics Indoor Championships qualifier in the shot put for New Zealand, will make her Louisville debut after spending the first three years of her career at Washington.
On the men's side, All-American heptathlete KJ Byrd will continue to ramp up his season as he is slated to compete in three events on Friday a week after setting a new personal record in the 400m at the Bellarmine Open.
