January 20, 2026 | Track & Field
The redshirt senior set a Louisville program record in the women’s pole vault with an NCAA-leading clearance of 4.48m (14-8.25).
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – University of Louisville women's track & field redshirt senior Ashley Callahan has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the ACC on Tuesday.
Callahan vaulted to the top of the national leaderboard in the women's pole vault, posting an NCAA-leading clearance of 4.48m (14-8.25) at the Bellarmine Open on Jan. 16 to earn the first ACC weekly honor of her career and put herself in prime position to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships in March.
The mark also shattered the previous meet record and set a new Louisville program record in the event, narrowly edging out the previous record of 4.47m (14-8) that was set last February by Natalie Lark.
The Cardinals will return to the indoor oval weekend, with the squads splitting between a pair of meets. Louisville will be represented at the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic in Louisville on Jan. 23, as well as the Crossroads of America Invitational in Indianapolis, Ind., which will be held over two days on Jan. 23-24.
