September 05, 2025 | Men's Tennis
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville men's tennis head coach Rodrigo da Silva has announced the Cardinals' 2025 fall schedule. The fall campaign includes five tournaments, which UofL will open by hosting the Louisville Invitational on Sept. 12 through Sept. 14.
Louisville is in the second year of a two-year pilot program for the NCAA that has altered the look of the fall tennis schedule for Division I tennis athletes. The NCAA Individual Championships have now been moved from the spring season into the fall semester. Plus, the NCAA and ITA office worked diligently to redesign the pathway to the individual championships, establishing qualifying events and the number of qualifiers from said events.
The Cards will open their fall slate by hosting the Louisville Invitational for the second year in a row. The tournament will be played at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center from Sept. 12 through Sept. 14.Â
The following weekend, UofL will send individuals to ITA All-Americans in Tulsa, Okla. for the tournament that begins Sept. 20 and goes through Sept. 28. Out of that tournament, 10 individuals will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship and four doubles teams will qualify for the Doubles Championship.
Louisville will then move to the annual ITA Ohio Valley Regionals which will be hosted by Purdue in West Lafayette, Ind. beginning Oct. 9 and lasting through Oct. 14. The two singles finalists along with the doubles champion from each region will qualify for their respective NCAA championships.
Then the Cards will move to the Crimson Tide Fall Challenge, hosted by Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Ala. the weekend of Oct. 24.Â
Louisville will wrap up the fall slate by heading north to compete in the Fighting Irish Invitational hosted by Notre Dame Oct. 31-Nov. 2.Â
The ITA Conference Masters and ITA Sectional Championships will both be held Nov. 6-9. The ITA Conference Masters will be held in San Diego, Calif. and the ITA Sectional Championships will split between four sites: Michigan, North Carolina, Georgia and Cal. The Conference Masters will produce four qualifiers in singles and three doubles teams for the NCAA Championships. There will be four different sections of the Sectional Championships and six singles players and three doubles teams will qualify out of each section.
The entire fall schedule now leads up to Nov. 18-23 where the NCAA Individual Champions for the 2025-26 season will be crowned in Orlando, Fla. Â Both the singles and doubles championships will run that week.
