LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville Athletic Association's Board of Directors approved a contract extension for UofL women's tennis coach Mark Beckham on Friday.
Â
"Thanks to Josh Heird and the Board for the contract extension," said Beckham. "Also a thanks to my players and coaching staff for trusting my leadership and working together to make Cardinal Tennis fans proud! I'm a lifelong fan of the University of Louisville who happens to be the Head Tennis Coach. There is no place I would rather be."
Â
Beckham, who just finished his 18th season as the women's head coach, inked a three-year extension that keeps him with the program until June 30, 2028. Beckham, who played for the Cards 1989, also served as assistant men's coach from 1992-2007. A Louisville native and former high school All-American at Eastern High School, Beckham was ranked second in the state of Kentucky in singles and has qualified for the National Adult Tennis Championships.
Â
The 2024-25 campaign saw Beckham's squad finish 13-10, which featured a win over No. 35 ranked Clemson and a victory over Florida State in the ACC Championships. The Cardinals were ranked as high as No. 60 in the team polls and had doubles team and an individual who made the ITA national rankings.
