
Lorenz Earns All-ACC Honors

Redshirt freshman Char Lorenz named to All-ACC Softball Second Team and All-Freshman Team
BRIGHTON, Mass. – The University of Louisville's Char Lorenz was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Softball Second Team and All-Freshmen Team in a vote by the league's head coaches as announced today by the conference office.

Lorenz, a redshirt freshman from Munster, Ind., carries a .385 batting average in conference play with five home runs, three triples, 20 RBIs and a 1.179 OPS against league opponents. On the season, the outfielder leads all ACC freshmen with 53 RBIs, 56 hits, five triples, and 13 stolen bases. She also ranks second among ACC freshmen in overall doubles (11), batting average (.368) and slugging percentage (.684). Lorenz recently broke Louisville's single-season freshman record of 53 RBIs with a solo home run against Pitt in the Cardinals' regular season finale on May 3.

The Cardinals (26-24, 9-15 ACC) earned the No. 10 seed in the ACC Championship and will face seventh-seeded and 25th-ranked Virginia in the first round of the tournament Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Boston College's Harrington Athletics Village.
