LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Quarterback Miller Moss threw for 208 yards and one touchdown, while wide receiver Caullin Lacy had 99 receiving yards and one touchdown to lead Louisville's White team to a 32-24 victory over the Red squad, Friday night in the Spring Game at L&N Stadium.
The defense controlled the pace and tempo in the first quarter with a couple of key defensive stops to take the early lead. The offense was able to get two field goals on the board by Nick Keller and Cooper Ranvier.
The second quarter fared better for the offense. Duke Watson got the lid off the end zone for the offense with an explosive 60-yard rushing touchdown. Later in the quarter Moss would connect with Lacy on a touchdown pass. The offense would wrap up their scoring in the first half with a field goal as time expired on the first-half game clock to give the White team a 22-18 halftime advantage.
The White team would get on the board in the third quarter with a Jaleel Skinner receiving touchdown from Mason Mims. Watson led the charge on the ground. He rushed for 67 yards on four attempts and the one touchdown.
A 52- yard field goal in the fourth quarter by Ranvier was the special team's highlight of the night. The defense forced one turnover, which was an interception by Rodney Johnson Jr.
"I think he (Miller Moss), has a chance to be really good," head coach Jeff Brohm said. "I think he knows who our weapons are, and we have to continue to develop more weapons."
