February 26, 2025 | Women's Basketball
Louisville will recognize its senior class before the final regular season home game
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The No. 25 Louisville women's basketball team (19-8, 12-4 ACC) is getting ready for its final home game of the season this Thursday evening. The Cardinals conclude the regular season home slate as they host the Clemson Tigers (13-14, 6-10 ACC) at the KFC Yum! Center on Thursday. The Cardinals and Tigers are set to square off at 6 p.m. ET and the game will be broadcast on the ACC Network.
Thursday is Senior Night for the Cardinals, as they will honor the senior class prior to the game. The Cards will honor both their senior managers, Chloe and Trey, along with their four seniors in Ja'Leah Williams, Jayda Curry, Merissah Russell and Olivia Cochran. Between the four players, they have played 380 games in a Louisville uniform.
Heading into the final week of the season, the Cards are currently tied for fourth in the ACC with two games remaining. They hold the tie breakers over the two teams they are tied with in #16 Duke and #24 Florida State. Top four finishers in the ACC receive a double bye for the ACC Tournament and will begin play in the quarterfinals of the tournament. In all 10 years the Cardinals have been in the ACC, they have advanced to the quarterfinals or further, the only team in the league to do so over that timeframe.
The Cardinals have been playing some of their best basketball over the past few weeks as the calendar is set to flip to March. Over the past two months, the Cardinals are 11-3 and four of those wins have come against ranked opponents. Over the past few weeks, the Cards have ranked road wins over Florida State and Duke. The Cards are the only team, men or women, to beat Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium this year.
