February 12, 2025 | Women's Basketball
Four of the final five opponents for the Cardinals are ranked in the Top 25
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville women's basketball team (17-7, 10-3 ACC) are back on the road for a two-game road trip this week. The trip begins in the Sunshine State as the Cardinals head to Tallahassee to take on No. 23/21 Florida State (19-5, 9-3 ACC) on Thursday. The Cardinals and Seminoles are set to face off at 6 p.m. ET and the game will be streamed on the ACC Network Extra.
This continues a grueling final stretch of games for the Cardinals that began at the beginning of February. Four of their final five games of the season will be against ranked opponents, including both games of this road trip against the No. 23/21 Seminoles and No. 13/10 Blue Devils next Thursday. Florida State is the ninth ranked opponent the Cardinals have faced this season but just the second ranked opponent they have faced in a true road game. The Cardinals won their last game against a ranked opponent, a 70-63 win over No. 21 Cal last Thursday.
Louisville's schedule as a whole is one of the toughest in the ACC and in the country this season. The Cardinals have the 17th toughest strength of schedule on their full slate, which ranks third in the ACC behind Duke and NC State. If you look at the Cards remaining schedule, it is the seventh-toughest in the nation, which leads the ACC.
In Louisville's most recent win over Stanford, they were led in scoring once again by freshman Tajianna Roberts. She scored a game-high 21 points, her fourth 20-point performance of the season, and she leads the team with 13.2 points per game on the season. In ACC play, Roberts is averaging 13.9 points per game and has led the team in scoring six times.
Jayda Curry also had a strong game in the win over Stanford. She scored 19 points and had a season-best 10-for-11 performance from the free throw line. She leads the ACC and ranks eighth nationally with a 92.5 free throw percentage (62-for-67) on the season.
