
Three Players Qualify for ITA Sectionals

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's tennis team sends one singles player and one doubles tandem to ITA Sectionals for their last bid at making the NCAA individual tournaments.Â
The tournament will run from Nov. 6 through Nov. 9. Walid Ahouda will compete in singles competition while the duo of Matei Onofrei and Andre' Steinbach will pair up for the Cards.Â
Ahouda is coming off a dominant performance at Crimson Tide Fall Challenge where he was 3-0 in singles competition and was named the tournament's Outstanding Player.Â
The newcomer and returner duo of Onofrei and Steinbach qualified for sectionals after their run at ITA Ohio Valley Regionals where they made it all the way to the semifinals before falling in a third set tiebreaker.Â
Ahouda is set to play Alabama's Matic Kriznik and the Cards tandem will face off against Miami's duo of Jakub Kroslak and Antonio Prat. Times have not yet been announced for either flight.
